BAFTA 2023 Short Form Winners

The winners of the 2023 EE BAFTA Film Awards were announced last night in a ceremony hosted by Richard E. Grant and Alison Hammond at The Royal Festival Hall and broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer. The EE BAFTAs celebrate the very best in film of the past year.

The ceremony was opened by a performance by BAFTA award-winner Ariana DeBose.  Little Simz was joined on stage by Joan Armatrading for an exclusive surprise performance.

The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse by Charlie Mackesy and Peter Baynton won the British Short Animation award; while the BAFTA for British Short Film was won by An Irish Goodbye by Tom Berkeley and Ross White.

BAFTA is a leading arts charity that marks its 76th anniversary this year. Through its Awards, it recognizes and celebrates creative excellence in film, games and television. It aims to inspire the next generation of talented people, no matter who they are or where they come from. It also discovers and supports talent with a focus on removing barriers to opportunity through a year-round learning and development program of events and initiatives, including mentoring and bursaries.
