American short doc How Do You Measure a Year? from director Jay Rosenblatt won the Grand Prize for Best Short Film in the International Competition at the Vilnius Short Film Festival over the weekend. The Best Film Award of the International Competition went to Teppo Airaksinen for his film The Blanket while Birutė Kapustinskaitė’s Mothers won the Award for Best Lithuanian Film.

Forty-one short films from Lithuania and all over the world were selected in the two competition programs of the festival this year. The jury was made up of South Korean curator and festival film programmer Sanghoon Lee, Lithuanian cinematographer Laura Aliukonytė, and Moldovan director Olga Lucovnicova.
